Re-check blood pressure in 5 minutes. If still elevated, consider medical consult prior to therapy. Routine dental management; Stress reduction protocol indicated
Hypertensive Crisis

Re-check blood pressure in 5 minutes.If still elevated, refer to MD immediately
  1. No dental therapy, routine or emergency, until elevated blood pressure is corrected.
  2. Emergency dental therapy with drugs (analgesics, antibiotics)
  3. Refer to hospital if immediate dental therapy indicated
